How Shopt works

You complete one form; Shopt requests quotes from each specialist collector car insurer that writes in your state, and you compare them on your own status page. There is no cost to use Shopt and no obligation to buy.

1. Check that Shopt fits

Before the form starts, a short checklist shows what the insurers look for: a car that is not your daily driver, kept in a private garage or secure enclosed storage, and a clean driving record. If it doesn't fit, you can leave your email and we'll check back in 3, 6 or 12 months.

2. Fill in one form

• About you — name, contact details, address and when you want the policy to start (any day from tomorrow up to about 30 days out).
• Your vehicles — up to 15 on one quote, picked from a year / make / model list, with value, annual mileage, how it's used and where it's kept. The VIN is optional at this stage.
• Drivers — everyone who will drive the cars. A driver's license number is optional until you buy.
• Coverage — liability limits and deductibles, pre-set to common choices you can change.

Your progress saves as you go, and "Save for later" emails you a link to pick up where you left off.

3. We shop the insurers

Shopt submits your details to each insurer that writes in your state. Many quotes come back within about 15 minutes; some need a person at the insurance company to review them first, and you'll see that on your status page. Very high-value vehicles and collections go to our concierge team for personal review instead.

4. Compare on your status page

You get an email (and a text, if you allow it) with a link to your status page. It shows each insurer's quote or status, lets you open each quote, and tells you if an insurer needs anything else, such as a VIN or information about other drivers in your household.

You only ever hear from Shopt — the insurance companies don't contact you directly about your quote.

5. Choose and buy

Pick the quote you want and request it online. A licensed agent at Covenant Underwriters LLC finalizes the policy with the insurance company. Not ready yet? Tell us on your status page and we'll check back when you choose.
